Ray Haydon was born, and is based, in Auckland. His works communicate an interest in the evocative properties of line in three-dimensional sculpture. In contrast to an intuitive and spontaneous approach to creating visual forms, he devotes much time and energy investigating the engineering required to make his pieces successful, adapting fabrication technologies from myriad sources. His sculptures have been featured in a number of public exhibitions and publications.
