Food & Beverage

Waiheke Island is internationally recognised as an award-winning wine and olive oil producing region and is home to a growing industry of locally-grown and made artisan products which has seen it fast gain a reputation as a gourmet food and wine destination.

We would like to share these unique Waiheke flavours with you and, for the duration of the Exhibition, will be offering a range of food, wine, beverages, and produce to sample and buy, at the Pavilion.

The 2013 headland Sculpture on the Gulf Pavilion provided a real “taste of Waiheke” with a full daily menu designed by Ana Schwarz (runner-up TVNZ MasterChef 2012) and prepared by French chef Nico Fini from Urban Escargot, both Waiheke residents.

Waiheke wines from selected vineyards Obsidian Vineyard, Kennedy Point Vineyard, Goldie Wines and Batch Winery, the exclusive sparkling wine provider, along with craft beers, apple cider and ginger beer from Waiheke Island Brewery were featured and available with meals and by the glass.

Local roastery, Island Coffee, Rangihoua Estate olive oil, Waiheke Aqua water and homemade sorbet and ice cream from Ice Queen were also featured, together with produce from other local artisan suppliers.

We were joined by our friends across the water - Phoenix and Nice Blocks.

Visitors could enjoy a delicious selection of light breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas and platter lunches.  In the late afternoon and early evening tapas and light meals were on offer before and after Twilight Walks, enjoyed as the sun set over Matiatia Bay.
